A two-year SLQF Level 10 master's for computing graduates or computing professionals who want to design, implement and manage large-scale integrated enterprise systems. Suited to software engineers, IT professionals and graduates aiming to progress into architecture, integration or leadership roles while studying part-time on weekends.

What you'll study

The course builds core enterprise software capabilities in year one and advances to cloud, analytics and a research project in year two. Core topics and taught modules include:

  • IT5010 Advanced Learning and Study Skills (2 credits)
  • SE5060 Enterprise Software Analysis and Design (3 credits)
  • SE5070 Enterprise Mobility (4 credits)
  • SE5080 Enterprise Software Architecture (4 credits)
  • Electives such as IT5080 DevOps (4 credits) and IT5070 Internet of Things (4 credits)
  • IT5090 Research Methodology (3 credits)
  • SE5090 Distributed Computing (4 credits)
  • SE5100 Rapid Application Development (3 credits)
  • Electives such as IT5100 Artificial Intelligence (4 credits) and IT5020 Advanced Database Technologies (3 credits)

Entry requirements

  • Bachelor of Science honours degree (4 years) in Software Engineering or a relevant computing degree from a recognised institution;
  • Bachelor of Science degree (3 years) in Software Engineering or a relevant computing degree plus a minimum of one year of post-qualifying professional experience in a relevant field, as acceptable to the Institute;
  • Bachelor’s honours degree (4 years) with adequate computing modules plus at least one year of relevant post-qualifying professional experience, as acceptable to the Institute;
  • Or a recognised qualification equivalent to an honours degree (4 years) and/or membership via an academic route from a professional computing body with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience, as acceptable to the Institute.
