A two-year postgraduate degree that develops advanced practical and theoretical skills across contemporary IT domains such as software engineering, AI, cloud, IoT, data analytics and DevOps. What you'll study

The programme spans four semesters (each 14 weeks) and covers core and elective modules across key IT areas. Course content emphasises applied skills alongside research methodology and project work.

  • Year 1, Semester 1: Advanced Learning and Study Skills; Advanced Database Technologies; Software Engineering Practices; Wireless Network Technologies; Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing (credit 0); System and Network Administration (elective options).
  • Year 1, Semester 2: DevOps; Internet of Things; Research Methodology; Data Analytics (elective); Cloud Computing (elective); Enterprise Governance of IT (short module).
  • Year 2: Advanced topics including operating system design, project management, secure software lifecycles, big data and machine learning, and completion of an independent research project.

Entry requirements

Eligible applicants include those with a 4-year BSc (honours) in Information Technology or a related computing degree, or a 3-year BSc in IT/related computing with at least one year of relevant post-qualification professional experience. Applicants holding a 4-year honours degree with sufficient computing content plus one year of relevant experience, or equivalent recognised qualifications and/or professional body membership with two years' relevant experience, are also acceptable.
