What you'll study

The degree totals 24 standard units (432 points). Required study areas include concentrated components across biblical, historical, systematic and pastoral theology alongside mission and ministry studies. Key structural requirements are:

• 4 units in Biblical Studies (Field B), including at least one unit in each Testament
• 2 units in Church History (CH)
• 4 units in Systematic Theology (CT)
• 2 units in Theology: Mission and Ministry (Field D)
• 4 units in Pastoral Theology and Ministry Studies (DP), which must include at least 2 units of Supervised Theological Field Education or Clinical Pastoral Education
• An undergraduate capstone unit
• 7 additional units to complete the 24‑unit requirement

Other course rules: no more than 12 units may be taken at Undergraduate Level 1, and at least 6 units must be at Undergraduate Level 3, including 2 Level 3 units in Field D. Students can view units scheduled for delivery (e.g. 2026 offerings) and plan enrolment with course advisers.

Entry requirements

Applicants need successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). If English is not the applicant's first language, English proficiency requirements in the Admissions Policy apply. The college operates credit transfer and recognition of prior learning (RPL) procedures. Students in the Pastoral Studies stream follow a prescribed sequence and should contact the college for advice; consideration is given to eligible prior study.

Career prospects

Graduates leave with a broad, coherent and critical knowledge of Christian theological traditions and methodologies, with focused competence in ministry studies. The course is designed so graduates can articulate and communicate a coherent vision of ministry, engage theological traditions with contemporary culture, and apply theological reflection to shape ministerial practice.
